Free transportation for area residents who need hospital based services
Healthcare Access for Patients and Families
JFK Medical Center and Muhlenberg are pleased to offer three new free transportation programs available to meet the needs of area residents: a shuttle bus and medical taxi service for patients who require transport to JFK Medical Center and taxi-voucher service for hospital based mental health, obstetrics and other patients who require transport to Trinitas Hospital.
Three Levels of FREE Transportation are Available
FREE SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE
Offered to and from JFK Medical Center for patients and visitors who require non-emergency medical services
- Runs continuously during designated hours between the Muhlenberg Campus main entrance and JFK Medical Center. No appointment is necessary.
- Hours of Operation: 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., 7 days a week.
FREE MEDICAL TAXI SERVICE
Assists transportation needs for scheduled non-emergency diagnostic and treatment appointments at JFK Medical Center, providing door-to-door, round-trip transportation services.
- Available to area residents upon request. Please request this service when calling JFK Medical Center for an appointment.
- Hours of operation: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
FREE TAXI VOUCHER SERVICE
Provides 24/7 curb-to-curb transportation to and from Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth for Neighborhood Health Services Corporation, Plainfield Obstetrics patients, hospital based Mental Health patients, and others who require non-emergency medical services.
- Vouchers may be obtained through the Neighborhood Health Services Corporation, Plainfield, Trinitas Hospital or the Muhlenberg Campus.
