Muhlenberg's Schools of Nursing, Medical Imaging and Therapeutic Sciences carry on a long tradition of educating future health care professionals. More than 250 students are enrolled in the three schools, which offer access to Muhlenberg's state-of-the-art equipment and expansive clinical facilities. Applicants to all three schools must have a diploma from an accredited secondary school or hold a high school equivalency diploma.
The School of Nursing prepares graduates for careers as registered nurses. Graduates receive a diploma from the school and an Associate in Science Degree from Union County College.
The School of Medical Imaging prepares graduates for careers in radiography, the art and science of using radiation (X-rays) to provide images of the tissues, organs and bones in the human body. Graduates receive a diploma from the school and an Associate in Science Degree from Union County College.
The School of Therapeutic Sciences offers a one year certificate program in Nuclear Medicine Technology utilizing radioactive isotopes in medical imaging and therapeutic medicine. The course enables graduates to perform highly technological procedures in hospitals, clinics and physician offices specializing in the use of radionuclides in the diagnosis and treatment of various disease processes. In addition the student is given options in advanced education leading to an Associate in Science degree from Union County College or a Bachelor of Science degree from Thomas Edison State College of New Jersey in this specialty area.
