(908)668-2285
Osteoporosis is a progressive bone disease affecting more than 25 million Americans. The key to treating it is early diagnosis and, once diagnosed, it can be controlled with diet, exercise and medication. Through the Osteoporosis Center, part of the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Muhlenberg has been performing bone density testing continuously since 1984. The center is equipped with a dual energy X-ray absorptiometry imaging table for accurate, fast and painless detection of osteoporosis. Seminars and literature are available to educate both physicians and the general public.
