Blood Bank
(908) 668-2280
Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center operates a blood bank for its patients. All blood and blood products are obtained from volunteer donors and, with the exception of self-donations, are routinely tested for the presence of the hepatitis and AIDS viruses as required by law. Donors must be 18 years of age or older (17 with written consent from a parent or legal guardian), weigh 110 pounds or more, and be in overall good health. Donations are made by appointment. The blood bank also offers an autologous donation program, which allows patient to donate their own blood prior to scheduled surgery, and a directed donor program, which permits family and friends to donate their blood for a patient who is scheduled for a procedure.
