The Center is an outpatient service located at 308 Talmadge Road, Edison. It is a leader in providing comprehensive self-management education, clinical and support services that improve the quality of life of those affected by diabetes in Central New Jersey. Our program has achieved recognition by the American Diabetes Association for meeting "The National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education".

Educational services are available to those with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, and associated conditions such as low blood sugar, high blood pressure, cholesterol disorders, thyroid conditions, weight management, those with impaired glucose tolerance, pregnancy with weight loss or excessive weight gain, coronary artery disease and kidney disease.
How Do I Benefit?
Whether you are newly diagnosed, or have had diabetes for years, the Diabetes Center can assist you in achieving the highest level of diabetes control. Because diabetes can affect all members of your family, they are invited and encouraged to participate in the many education sessions, programs and classes that we offer.
How Do I Pay For The Service?
As an outpatient department of JFK Medical Center, we accept the same third-party payors, Medicare, Medicaid and Charity Care, and most insurances as payment for services.

Diabetes Support Group
Persons with diabetes and their family members are invited to share their knowledge, experiences, triumphs, and concerns through our Diabetes Support Group. Members meet the first Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at 308 Talmadge Road, Edison. Insulin Pump Therapy Support Group
Pump wearers or anyone interested in learning about the insulin pump are invited to share their knowledge and concerns through the support group. Our forum will include new technologies, problem solving, nutrition management and more. Come join us for a unique opportunity to share your own triumphs and experiences with others. The co-facilitator of our group has Type 1 diabetes and has been a pump wearer for several years. The group meets one evening every month at 7:15 p.m. at 308 Talmadge Road, Edison. Medical Weight Managaement Classes
The Weight Management Group Classes will be scheduled twice a month for your added support. Our forum will include a new food plan, behavior modification, fitness education and much more.
Join us for exciting and fun sessions while learning new behaviors for weight management.
